Documents Legally Required:
All documentation MUST BE ORIGINAL (photocopies are not accepted) and it is up to you to obtain them prior to your weeding
If you posses the British Nationality and you are a single person a certificate from a solicitor of your country confirming that you free to get married. This certificate is acceptable up to 6 months limit.
Birth certificates.
10 Year passport with at least 6 months validity remaining before departure date.
Adoption certificate is required (in case of adoption)
Decree of absolute if divorced.
Death certificate (in the case of widows or widowers).
If either partner are under the legal age of consent (18 years) a letter of consent is required from a solicitor on behalf of the parent(s) or guardian.
Baptism or Christening certificate of either one or both of the parties to be obtained (applicable for church ceremonies only).
Irish citizens required a “freedom to marry” certificate which can be obtained from the Irish Embassy in England or the Registry Office in Ireland.
Please be aware that applications must be submitted at least 4 working days prior the wedding.
Nothing can be done in advance. The application is accepted when you are both present
Wedding Licence and Certificate of Notification fees is Cyprus Pounds (£CYP) and must be paid in full on the day of registry at the Town Hall. (See Ceremony Details for fees)
Two witnesses will be required in accordance to Cypriot Law. We would be happy to provide two witnesses if necessary.
Passport of the witnesses.
One of the parties has changed their name by deed poll proof is required (this must be stamped by a solicitor).
